Where Do You Twitter From?

Looking at Twitter Sources for today and really surprised that so many people use the web to post to Twitter and equally surprised at the huge number of Twitter clients.

  • 43% of posts to Twitter are from the web i.e. Twitter.com.
  • Twitterfeed accounts for 8.6% of Twitter posts.
  • The Twitter client with the greatest use is Twitterific, even though it only has a a 5.5% share. Twhirl and Twitterfox follow with 4.1% and 3.6%.
  • The remaining 42% of post are made up from the other 268 Twitter clients used on a daily basis.

    I use TwitFox, Twhirl and Twitter.com to tweet from my computer, Twitterfox to poll my blog, and I have TwitterBerry on the Blackberry. I also send BrightKite updates straight to Twitter, but I decided not to use the Facebook app to bring in tweets, as it seemed too much on Facebook. Instead, I use the PingPressFM plugin for WordPress to send blogs to Facebook via Ping.FM
